Review Grids shows each chart page arranged in your selected configuration. Page overviews let you quickly check the status of each page at a glance. Problem pages are flagged red. Tap any page to open it's grid editor to resolve any issues.
IMPORTANT: Spend time at this step to ensure that the grid layout on each page is correct, and that all pages fit together nicely in the given configuration (all pages in each row must have the same height and all pages in each column must have the same width). Zoom in to check that the Markup grid matches the underlying chart on each page before continuing.
Controls at a Glance
The Action Chipset |
| The buttons on the left edge of the screen (bottom of the screen in portrait), in order: - Page Header/Information Toggle: show or hide each page's data layer (which includes (row X col), grid size and issue labels) for a clean uncluttered view of the chart pages. This data layer is only visible in full-page layout mode
- Chart Page Layout Toggle: switch between full chart page layout mode and a grid-only page layout mode to view and compare the layout of the chart pages (note:overlap is still included on this step - removed in next step)
- Scale-to-Fit: reset the chart page layout configuration to zoom and frame all pages in the current view

Reading the Overview (at a glance) |
| Always do these 3 Quick Checks: 1. Do all the pages have a green headers with a green tick? - this indicates that the row and column counts match up across all pages for the current layout configuration. If not, zoom in on (and tap) the issues icons to determine what to fix. 2. Quickly scan the row counts down the right edge of the layout, then scan the column counts across the bottom of the chart. Do these values look roughly correct for your pattern? If not, (sometimes not all grid lines are detected) then more investigation is required 3. Zoom in on a few of the chart pages and use a single finger to pan around. Confirm that the red Markup grids are correctly aligned with the underlying chart images. This is an important check, becuase if your grids don't align properly at this stage you will have issues later on in the process. 30 seconds here can save hours later: check the page grids carefully and ensure that they are correct. Only continue if you are happy that the grids look correct. Any overlap is excluded on the next step. |
| A traffic-light system provides a quick overview of each page’s status. Green means the page is ready, yellow highlights a warning, and red indicates an issue that needs fixing. A full set of green ticks is usually a good sign that the grid layouts are ready to proceed. When there is an issue with the grids and/or layout the page header colours are updated accordingly, and the green tick is replaced with one or more warning icons. Tap any icon for further details. |
| Page Header: Above each page, includes the 'pN' page number (starting from 1 for the top left page) and the row & column grid size on the page. Green means the grid is fine, yellow is a warning (maybe still ok), red needs fixing. |
| Issue Icon(s): Issues icons are drawn in the centre of a page when an issue is detcted, e.g. no grid detected, wrong row or column counts, rotated or skewed pages (see below for details). Tap on an icon to display a description of what is wrong; tap again to hide it. These are only displayed on yellow and red pages. |
| Green Tick: A large green tick on a page means no problems were detected. Potentially nothing to do there, although futher checks may still be required. |
| Row and Column Counts: row counts run down the right side of the layout and are displayed for each row. Column counts run along the bottom underneath each column on the layout. A quick scan of these numbers can confirm if the dimensions look correct without further investigation. '?' value is used if Markup is not sure what the count is. |

Fixing a Page (Issues) |
| If there is a problem with a page, then one or more Issue Icons will be displayed in the middle of the affected page. There are multiple different types of issues that can be detected: - No Grid: no grid has been detected on that page
- Check: a) grid covers whole page, this means no grid boundary properly detected, OR b) low line count, not very many grid lines detected on this page
- ROWS: a) not all pages in this row have the same height, OR b) a high row count has been detected
- COLS: a) not all pages in this column have the same width, OR b) a high column count has been detected
- Rotation: the grid itself looks straight, but the grid is rotated on the page. A yellow oultine indicates the rotation is minor but still worth fixing. Red is a significant rotation and should be fixed before continuing.
- Skewed: the grid corners do not make rectangular shape and are skewed. A yellow outline indicates the skew is minor but still worth fixing. Red is a significant skew and should be fixed before continuing.
- Uneven: some of the grid cells on the chart don't look square, and have a more rectangular shape. This is worth a check just to ensure that the grid is ok.

| Tap an issue icon: click on one of the icons if you would like more information regading any of the issues on the page. Tap an icon again to hide the information. |
| Tap a page: a single-tap on any page will start the grid editing process for that page, which starts with Set Corners, followed by Confirm Size and the optional Straighten Chart step. Finishing (or cancellng) the editor brings you back here, ready to work on the next page to fix up or continue to the next step (Set Overlap for multiple page charts) where overlap is removed (if any). |
| Back: returns to the Set Chart Layout step. |
Next: once you have all the grids laid out correctly across all pages, the next step is to remove any overlap specified on the chart via the Set Overlap step. If there is only 1 chart page, the next step is to Set Symbols. You cannot continue while any page has no grid. A popup message will name the page that needs fixing, so no incomplete grid can derail the rest of setup.

Did you know?
- Miscount insurance: compare the counts on each banner with the stitch counts printed on your pattern. It is the quickest check that every page was read correctly.
- Yellow warnings: A yellow warning often just means a minor misalignment, which if ignored, may still mean you can stitch your chart. However, the pages may not align perfectly when stitched together. I've found that a few minutes fixing any yellow warning leads to a better end result whilst stitching. Red is the colour that needs action.
- SAL Holding Pages: On your first visit, any SAL Holding pages will automatically be given grids built from their neighbours' row and column sizes, to try and create a valid chart layout.
- Overlap Included: when setting up the grids the overlap is included so you don't need to worry about including or excluding it. Overlap will be handled in the next step.
- False Positives: sometimes a quick glance will reveal that all pages have green ticks and the chart layout looks ok to continue. However, only the thicker grid lines have been detected on the charts, so the row and column counts are too low (e.g. 7 instead of 70). That's why a quick check of the row and column counts, or zooming in on the chart is important to ensure false positives are not incorrectly used to setup the chart.
- Single Page Project: if you only have a single chart page for your project, once the grid is setup, it is assumed that there is no overlap to remove so the next step skips Set Overlap and jumps straight to Set Symbols.
