The Layers panel separates the original chart, your marked stitches and anything you draw over them. Change what you see without changing the underlying chart or losing progress.
Open the panel by tapping the current symbol or active layer name in the toolbar. Select Markup when you want chart taps to mark stitches; select a drawing layer when you want chart taps to draw.

1. Chart row
Controls the original chart-page images beneath your grid and marks. |

Controls your marked grid squares, the grid and the special views used while stitching. |

Add a layer, lock or unlock the eraser, reorder the active layer or delete it. |

The selected row controls what a chart tap does. With Markup selected, taps mark grid squares. With a drawing layer selected, taps and drags create strokes or notes on that layer.

The Chart Row
Eye: show or hide the original chart-page images. The grid, markup, symbols and drawing layers remain visible.
Opacity slider: fade only the chart images. This is useful when a busy or coloured chart competes with your markup.
Rotate: turn the complete chart 90 degrees at a time. The small badge shows the current rotation.
These settings are also available under Chart Pages in Settings Inside a Project. Changes in either place stay in step.

The Markup Row
Select Markup: the circle at the start of the row makes Markup active, so taps and drags change completed stitches rather than drawing.
Eye: show or hide marked grid squares without changing their completed state or counts.
Grid: show or hide all thin, thick and diagonal grid lines together.
Preview: shows how the completed design is building by displaying every grid square in its thread colour. Preview and Show Unmarked cannot be used together.
Show Unmarked: isolates the grid squares still to do. The chart, grid and completed markup are temporarily hidden so the remaining stitches stand out.
Last stitch: centres and briefly rings the grid square you marked most recently.
Markup lock: prevents completed grid squares from being cleared accidentally. Drawing layers remain available.
If the chart, grid or markup is hidden, or the chart is heavily faded, a status message appears below the toolbar. Tap it to restore the normal display in one step.

Drawing Layers
Use drawing layers for backstitch, fractional stitches, corrections, reminders and text notes. They are separate from completed stitches, so they do not alter stitch counts or progress statistics.
