Select the PDF pages that contain the chart grids you would like to stitch. Turn a raw PDF into a clean set of chart pages in a few taps.

A typical PDF usually holds more than the chart itself, e.g. a cover, instructions, the colour key, finished photos. Pick out only the grids you will stitch, so everything that follows works from the right chart pages.

Selecting Chart Pages

Tap a page: to select or deselect. A highlighted page means the page is selected as a chart page.

Double-tap a page: Full-screen preview with pan and zoom, so you can read fine chart detail before deciding. Done returns, and your selection is untouched.

Page Header: "N of M pages selected", tracks every change.

Next: Needs at least one chart page, so you cannot accidentally start an empty project.

  1. Select All: includes every page at once.
  2. Select None: clears all selected pages.
  3. Invert: flips every page's state, instead of re-tapping each page.

Where Your Chart Pages Show Up

Everything builds on them: Grid detection, symbol finding and the Markup screen all work from the pages you pick here, and only these pages become part of your stitchable chart.

Your counts and progress: Stitch totals, percentages and forecasts in Statistics are derived from the chart pages you include, so picking the right ones keeps the numbers honest.

Did you know?

  • Ignore the other pages: leave out covers, instructions and thread lists on this step. Key and picture pages get their own steps next.
  • Identify at a glance: each thumbnail shows its PDF page number and, once included, its current (row X col) page size, which lets you know if a grid has been detected
  • Missed a page?: if you realise that you've missed a page at this step, simply close the project, delete it, and start again with the Configure PDF step.
  • Focus your statistics: come back later and restrict the chart pages to a subset, and the project statistics apply only to those pages.
  • Changing chart pages later will re-run the Set Chart Layout step to confirm configuration. Nothing breaks, but expect that.
