Select the pages containing the symbol key. The key shows which thread colour is assigned to each symbol. Including these pages allows Markup R-XP to read the key later and try to match the thread colours automatically, or lets you use it as a reference when assigning colours manually.

Controls at a Glance

Selecting Key Pages

Tap a page : to select or deselect. A highlighted page means the page is selected as a key page. 

Double-tap a page: Full-screen preview with pan and zoom, so you can check symbols, thread names and codes up close. Done returns, and your selection is untouched.
Page Header: "N of M pages selected", tracks every change.
Back: returns to the Select Chart Pages step.
Next: goes to the Select Picture Pages step. Some charts don't contain any key pages, so you can leave this step without anything selected. Markup will use any selected key pages to try and automatically setup the symbol colours for your chart, if available.

  1. Select All: includes every page at once.
  2. Select None: clears all selected pages.
  3. Invert: flips every page's state, instead of re-tapping each page.

Where Your Key Pages Show Up

Assigning colours to symbols: the Set Symbol Colours step matches every symbol against your key pages to find its real thread colour, so an accurate key can save you typing colours by hand. Your selected key pages are displayed in full on this step.
No key pages?: No worries, nothing breaks: you can still give every symbol a colour by hand. If you only have a single-page chart, then that is included by default as a key page.

Did you know?

  • A page can be both a chart page and a key page. The two selections are independent.
  • Zero key pages is fine: you can still set every colour by hand in Set Symbol Colours.
  • Arrived here from Set Colours? you can update your key page selection on the Set Colors step. A single Return button takes you straight back, and any changes are applied.
