Confirmed Symbols is the shared symbol list used throughout chart setup and marking. Change its width to balance chart space against the amount of symbol detail you need.

You can open this panel in Set Symbols, Set Symbol Colours, Chart Preview and the Markup screen. The available actions vary with the current step.

Choose How Much Detail to Show

The two Confirmed Symbols panel width controls, numbered one and two
  1. Show more: Move from Off to Thin, List and then Full view.
  2. Show less: Move back towards Off to give the chart or key pages more room.
Off: Hide the symbol list while keeping the width controls available.
Thin: See each colour, icon and short name in the smallest working list. Full guide.
List: Add names, stitch counts, sorting and step-specific actions. Full guide.
Full: Use the whole screen for symbol names, notes, counts and totals. Full guide.

What Changes Between Steps

Set Symbols Functionality: Select and check detected symbols. List and Full views can also provide actions for deleting, merging and refreshing symbols. Jump to symbol. 
Set Colours Functionality: Select a symbol to find it on the key pages, or tap its colour swatch to edit its details. List and Full views can also reset the key search or open Merge Symbols.
Chart Preview Functionality: Use the panel as a read-only check of the confirmed symbols and their counts. See where symbols exist on the chart. 
Markup Functionality: Select the symbol you are stitching and jump to its next unmarked grid square. Direct colour editing is available only when the advanced editing preference is enabled.

Did you know?

  • Your chosen width follows you: when you change the panel view, the same view is used on the other screens that contain Confirmed Symbols.
  • Your selection stays selected: changing the panel width, sort order or page scope does not lose the current symbol.
  • Full view temporarily hides wizard navigation: reduce the panel to return to the chart and its Back or Next buttons. Reduce Full View to navigate to another step. 
  • Single-page projects stay simple: the Page or Chart scope control is hidden when there is only one chart page.
