Stitching Techniques

  • Backstitch: add a drawing layer and trace your backstitch over the chart as you go. Full guide.
  • Fractional stitches (half, quarter, petite, French knots): mark them on a drawing layer, or split one cell between symbols with different pen colours.
  • Parked stitches: double tap the corner of a cell to park your thread at that corner.
  • Spotted a mistake? Circle it on a drawing layer so you can find it and fix it later.

Finding Your Place

  • Flash a target ring on your last stitch from the layers panel, and tap it to jump straight back after looking around the chart.
  • Long press the magnifying glass for multi symbol search: keep tapping cells to see what each symbol is.
  • Restrict your working area with guide bars, and double tap a bar to lock it in place. Full guide.

Marking Off

  • A drag only marks, or only unmarks. It follows the first cell you touch, so a wobbly finger cannot flip things both ways.
  • Everything saves as you go. Reopen the project and you are exactly where you left off.

Progress

  • The title bar shows how much of the whole chart you have marked. Turn on single page view in the symbol panel and it shows the current page instead.
  • Unmarked some stitches? You can set your own stitching time for the day in Statistics, so unpicking never loses the hours you really spent.
